Book Review | The Princess and the Ziz
by Jacqueline Jules

Score: 3

This is a delightfully told folk tale – this time apparently the true folk tale – of the Ziz who brings the true love of King Solomon’s daughter to her where she is held prisoner in a high tower for safekeeping. Katherine Janus Kahn’s exquisite, stained glass-like, brightly colored illustrations infuse this story with a life all its own. The lovely story is simply told with the childlike Ziz playing its usual tricks and sure to delight children as you read-aloud to them.

I recommend this book to all Jewish libraries.
