Book Review | Private Joel and the Sewell Mountain Seder
by Bryna J. Fireside

Score: 4.5

This is a beautifully told, beautifully illustrated yet very different telling of the Passover story. We sit and watch during the Civil War with Jewish soldiers and former slaves who are soldiers as they prepare for and create a Passover Seder with the materials at hand. This is a great chapter book for younger readers and would make an interesting book for older readers who may have difficulty reading.

I highly recommend this for all Jewish libraries.
