Book Review | Mrs. Kaputnik’s Pool Hall and Matzo Ball Emporium
by Rona Arato

Score: 2.5

The Kapustin family cannot understand what has happened to their father. He left for American and has not written for 5 years. Where could he be? With the help of a dragon, a pirate, a circus barker, matzo balls as hard as rocks and some real American resourcefulness, not only do they manage to find out, they create a fabulous restaurant and save their neighborhood from a notorious mobster.

The writing is clear and the language easy. A fun and engaging read for the difficult to attract.  Boys in particular will find this book interesting with the references to pirate ships and baseball.
