Book Review | Don’t Talk to Me About the War
by David A. Adler

Score: 3

There is not much Jewish content in this nicely written book by David Adler.  There is one Jewish character who worries over the fate of her aunt and uncle living in Europe – the father and mother of her two counsins who have been sent over to live with her family.  Primarily, this book is a view of World War II as seen through the eyes of American middle schoolers who are mostly interested in baseball. There is a nice history lesson here, however, in that it explains why the United States stayed out of the war as long as it did.

I recommend this book for all Jewish libraries.
