Book Review | All God’s Critters
by Bill Staines

Score: 3

This is a wonderful book for storytime, sing alongs. The illustrations are laugh out loud silly, as every living thing participates in the choir. Each child can choose and animal and sing out loud to their heart’s content. There is nothing fundamentally Jewish in the song itself, however the message – we all have a place in this world and we must use our God given talents while we are here – is a Jewish one.

The music and lyrics for the song are in the back of the book, so you can welcome your cantor to storytime to sing with the children. The fold out page in the middle will have them rolling in the aisles, or better yet, doing a chorus line on stage for their parents and teachers!

I recommend this book for Jewish libraries.
